Keychoice Underwriting Unveils Launch Team

Keychoice Underwriting, the new commercial lines underwriting operation headed up by Jonathan Davey, has unveiled its senior management team prior to commencing trading later this year.

Derek Findlayson has been appointed strategy & propositions director. He brings a wealth of market knowledge & experience, having spent almost 30 years in the industry with Legal & General, AXA & Groupama. Until recently he held the roles of director of sales & distribution & managing director at Ignition NBS, the marketing & business services consultancy. Findlayson will focus on developing a market leading product & service offering to meet members’ current & future needs.

Keychoice Underwriting has also recruited Tony Griffiths, who joins as underwriting director. With almost 30 years underwriting experience within both the Lloyds & company markets, he has managed substantial portfolios of business & has been responsible for all aspects of insurance company management, most recently as managing director of Lynx Underwriting Services. In his new role Griffiths will have responsibility for the underwriting & profitability of the SME commercial portfolio & is currently in the process of recruiting a team of liability & property underwriters & claims &  risk management specialists.

Dene Smith joins as head of sales & will be responsible for recruiting & managing the sales & account management teams across the UK. He has over 20 years experience in the insurance industry, holding a variety of business development & underwriting roles with General Accident / Norwich Union, HSBC & AXA. Latterly he was Axa’s head of customer delivery for the UK, where he was responsible for six branch operations with a combined GWP of £500m.

Keychoice Underwriting will provide a range of exclusive commercial lines products including commercial combined, property owners & commercial package, for office, retail & surgery risks to Keychoice’s 900 plus network members.
